ALL CLASSES - Talk about your art

Here is a challenge...

Copy and paste the following list to your power point (If you haven't already done so). Then, every time you post a piece of your artwork on your blog, if you can't think of anything to say about it, choose one of these prompts to talk about your art. At the end of the semester you will receive a grade on your blog, based on the effort you put into it. It shouldn't be something you fear or dread doing. I want you to have fun with it and challenge yourself to think about the artwork you are making. It is your artwork and you can feel however you want about it. Write a sentence or a story...the choice is yours. Post all of your artwork that you complete in or out of class. You can even post work from earlier grades. Try to label each piece according to when it was completed.

Start talking about your art
  • If you could do this piece again, what would you change?
  • What materials did you use for this piece? How did you use them?
  • Describe your idea behind the artwork. Where did it come from?
  • How did you make the color choices in your artwork?
  • Was your art influenced by another artist? Who and why?
  • Tell me a story about your artwork?
  • What elements or principles of design did you use? Explain where you used them.

DRAWING I - Post your Preliminary Drawings

WOW! I am impressed with your preliminary drawings. Thank you for sharing them with me and for allowing me to see where you are at with your drawing skills. I am looking forward to some incredible work from all of you. Each of you has a unique style of drawing that allows me to get a glimpse of your varied personalities. Our drawings give hints of what is hidden in our hearts and souls and this class is filled with some truly beautiful people!

Go to this LINK and retrieve the photos of YOUR preliminary drawings. If you haven't finished them all or they are not all pictured in this photo album, you may add them to your blog later. Save your preliminary drawings photos to your J-ID files. Crop or photo edit them if needed. All photos posted on your blog need to be correctly positioned and appropriately cropped so there is no unwanted background around the pictures. Do not upload the photos to your blog until AFTER they are edited. Make your blog as professional looking as possible.

Once you upload your photos, under each, write about how you feel you did on these drawings. Do you believe this is you best, that you can do better or that you are in need of a lot of instruction? What do you like the most about your drawings, what do you think you need the most help with?
